Building Without Wood: Avient Showcases Composite Solutions for Light, Strong, and Fire-Resistant Construction at NAHB IBS 2026

ORLANDO, Fla. – February 9, 2026 – Avient Corporation, an innovator of materials solutions, will exhibit at this week’s National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) International Builders’ Show® (IBS), unveiling its life-size Composites Innovation Showcase – a fully functional display built without wood components, using the company’s composite materials – for the first time at the world's largest annual light construction show.

Real Solutions for Real Industry Challenges
The construction industry is facing rising demand for affordable housing, workforce shortages, and increasingly stringent safety standards. Avient's exhibit will demonstrate how advanced composites can help address all three challenges simultaneously.

Avient’s Composites Innovation Showcase is a working demonstration of innovative composite alternatives built entirely without wood. Visitors can see how composite-reinforced decking, as well as wall, floor, and ceiling panels, are installed and finished compared to traditional building materials. Materials featured include:

• Hammerhead™ FR Flame Retardant Composite Panels – an industry-first thermoplastic FR panel
• Polystrand™ Thermoplastic Composite Tapes, Laminates, and Panels – for structural reinforcement
• Glasforms™ Pultruded Profiles – for metal replacement
